Plans for the Low Light Practical Night
The weather forecast for Monday 16th looks favourable for us to hold the Low Light Practical as planned.
If we all meet as normal for 7.30 at Ingleside then we can make our way to the Market Place (or beyond) and hopefully get some nice low light images.
According to the Met Office there will be light cloud and temps of around 8-10 degrees. Sunset is timed at 20.04 with twilight ending at 20.36.
Look forward to seeing you all tomorrow, don't forget your tripod...

Important Information About the 2012 Annual Competition.
The annual competition judging date was recently put back by a week from April 16 to April 23, to match this the entry date was also set back by a week to April 2nd.
Therefore could all members please bring entries to this coming Modays meeting, the categories are;
We are also doing the 'best of the best', that is any entry getting 1st, 2nd or 3rd in competitions A to E.
These will all go to the judge as projected images, I will collate the ones entered as projected.
For those entered as prints I will be asking the appropriate members to submit the images as .jpg files when I get back from holiday.
I hope this makes sense.
Regards
Peter.
Changes to the Programme for Monday 19th and Monday 26th March 2012.
Due to unforeseen circumstances our speaker for Monday 19th March has requested a 1 week postponement to his planned date. Therefore the evening with Damian Lovegrove will now be on Monday 26th March.
The meeting on Monday 19th March will now be run as 2 seperate subjects.
The first half will consist of a demonstration on 'How to Mount a Printed Image' where you will be treated to demonstrations of image mounting using both 'Pro' and 'Budget' mounting equipment. The demonstrations will show you, step by step, the process for measuring and cutting your mount as well as fixing you image securely in place.
The 2nd half will be an open discussion reviewing the season so far, and capturing ideas ahead of next season.
The Committee are meeting on Wednesday 21st of March to begin planning for the 2012/12 season so this meeting will provide the perfect opportunity to provide us with feedback on what has gone well this season and where we can improve for next.
Look forward to seeing you all on Monday...

Practical Night Subject 16th March 2012
Following a number of requests and interest it has been decided we will run an introduction into HDR Photography on the Practical Evening on 16th March.
We will be covering a range of topics including what subjects work and how to shoot bracketed exposures. We will then use some of the images to demonstrate how to process the images in Photomatix Pro and it's baby brother Photomatix Essentials and how they can then be further tweaked in Photoshop.
If you have any particular questions or concerns about HDR Photography feel free to email me so we can ensure that the night meets your expectations.
Cheers, Kevin
